Valentine’s Day is tomorrow—the day of love, lovers, and, of course, chocolate.
I’m not usually a big fan of chocolate. Sure, I love chocolate cake, and chocolate chip cookies are probably the only dessert I really, really crave consistently, but chocolate? Like, just chocolate? Ehh, it’s alright. I mean, it’s good, but to me, it’s just another ingredient.
That being said, there’s just something about February. It’s cold, it’s dark, it’s BORING. It’s the only time of the year I really crave an intensely chocolatey treat. And this year, I’ve made so many!!
As promised, below is a collection of five super chocolatey recipes that I really, really love, ordered from easiest to most time-consuming. I don’t actually think the chocolate cake with coffee, cocoa nibs, and brown butter is thaaaat hard to make—it just has a lot of elements and steps. But project bakes are fun! Take the afternoon (or, honestly, two would be better), whip this up, and whoever you want will fall madly, deeply in love with you. Promise!
And for transparency’s sake, some of these recipes can be found elsewhere:
The kladdkaka recipe is on my website.
The brownie recipe is Ruth Reichl’s Art Park Brownies (though I’ve converted it into grams in the packet).
Farmor’s Chokladkaka comes from Sju Sorters Kakor (also converted to grams in the packet).
And lastly, the chocolate cake is from Bon Appétit, but all the other components on it are my recipes.
Now you know! Though you should still subscribe—you know you want to 😉
Xoxo,
Cecilia
